Conflict Management
What It Can Deliver
Practical experience. We can use experiential simulations at the beginning of our workshops which can simulate unwarranted conflict and will simulate the various strategies people deploy in carrying out a task. They are powerful tools to effectively demonstrate how individuals relating styles are perceived by others who are very different to themselves.
Personal Discovery Profiles, such as the Strength Deployment Inventory ®, provide powerful learning experiences. People who complete the SDI get a chance to talk about conflict without actually experiencing conflict. The SDI provides a common language that helps people identify what’s happening, and work toward a positive outcome. Participants are challenged to choose behavior more consciously to prevent and manage conflict.
Practical feedbackcan be included which gives participants an idea of how they are perceived by others and a chance to discuss the conflict with other team members in a non-threatening way.
A clear understanding of expectations. Sometimes conflict in teams comes from differences in expectations. We can offer the Expectations Edition ® of the SDI which gets everyone’s expectations out in the open and provides an opportunity to discuss and come to some agreement about what is expected. Once expectations are clear, the road to high performance is more obvious.
