Simulation Game Pack Overview
The Cultural Diversity in Health Care Pack is a facilitators guide to running a one day workshop to enable participants in a health and social care setting to become culturally aware.
The aim of the day is to help participants think about cultural difference in their workplace and how it may affect their relationships with colleagues, clients, patients, service users and caregivers. It will also offer them the opportunity to identify the skills and strategies needed in order to thrive and work effectively in a diverse environment.
The workshop is based on principles of experiential learning and proceeds from the assumption that engaging in games and simulations will help participants to better understand real-life situations. It involves participants as emotional beings and thus addresses the development of a range of competencies in ways, which are fun to do and close to the natural ways in which people learn.
The day is designed to develop cultural awareness and cross cultural skills, enabling participants to develop a non-judgemental attitude, empathy and readiness to appreciate other people's views.
